Campbell's optimism
Penn State's quarterback room is set to hit full stride as the team opens preseason camp. Both Rocco Becht and Alex Manske have been cleared to practice without restrictions, giving the program a rare depth at the position.
Coach Matt Campbell described Manske's recovery from an undisclosed health issue as "monumental," emphasizing how the senior's return adds a new dimension to the offense.
The health comeback extends beyond the signal callers. Linebacker Tony Rojas and defensive back Anthony Donkoh are also back to full strength after missing spring drills, bolstering the roster's overall readiness.
Campbell noted that the only other scholarship quarterbacks on the roster have yet to take a Division I snap, making Becht and Manske the clear leaders. Both seniors, Connor Barry and Rocco Becht, are entering their final season of eligibility.
The coaching staff sees Manske's development as a cornerstone for the program's future, while the team prepares to fine‑tune its attack in State College before heading into the upcoming season.
