Penn State is gearing up for the 2026 college football season, a campaign that will be led by head coach Matt Campbell and a roster that has been fundamentally reshaped over the offseason.
A massive roster overhaul
The program added more than 50 scholarship athletes, altering the depth chart across both sides of the ball and injecting fresh competition into practice sessions.
Among the newcomers is redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Caleb Brewer, a Wyomissing, Pennsylvania native who began his high school career at Wyomissing High School before joining the Penn State program.
Listed at 6‑4 and 295 pounds, Brewer has moved from offensive guard to the interior of the defensive line, where he is expected to provide depth and help anchor the front.
Looking ahead
Brewer, who carries eligibility through 2028, joins a group of emerging talents such as J'ven Williams, Alijah Carnell, Armstrong Nnodim, Siale Taupaki, Keanu Williams and Ty Blanding, all of whom are looking to contribute as the team seeks to translate its offseason momentum into on‑field success.
The Nittany Lions open the season on September 5 at home in Beaver Stadium against Marshall, a game that will serve as the first test of a roster projected to crack the Top 25 in the preseason polls.
