Penn State’s 2027 Recruiting Boost
Penn State has added two new pledges to its 2027 football class, reinforcing the program’s momentum as it prepares for the next recruiting cycle. The highlights of the haul include a highly touted running back who brings size and experience to the backfield.
Chukwuma Odoh, a 6‑foot, 220‑pound back from Paramus Catholic, chose the Nittany Lions over a slate of Power Five programs including Auburn, Duke, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan State and Wisconsin. Rivals places him 71st among running backs nationally and ranks him as the 14th‑best overall prospect in the class, reflecting a three‑star rating.
His commitment adds to a class that currently holds the 14th spot in the national team rankings, a position that reflects the program’s consistency in the Rivals eight‑commitment formula, which does not reward excess numbers.
Within the Big Ten, the Nittany Lions sit behind traditional powerhouses such as Southern California, Ohio State, Oregon and UCLA, while programs like Michigan, Nebraska, Washington and Wisconsin round out the conference’s upper tier.
The new pledges illustrate the coaching staff’s ability to attract talent from across the country, a factor that could influence the team’s depth and performance in upcoming seasons.
