A drizzle settled over Lewistown on the opening day of the Mifflin County Youth Football Camp, forcing organizers to move the three‑day event indoors. Yet the 65 youngsters ranging from first to eighth grade gathered eagerly, their excitement undimmed by the gray skies as they awaited the arrival of a special guest.
Omarion Davis, a Penn State standout, stepped onto the gym floor with the calm confidence of a Division I athlete. He spoke candidly about the relentless grind of college football, the early mornings, the grueling practices, and the personal sacrifices required to compete at that level. The expansion was made possible through a partnership with Geisinger, which supports student‑athletes via Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) agreements. This collaboration not only funded Davis’s visit but also underscored a broader commitment to nurturing local talent.
