Pepperell High School names Cody Sauls as new head baseball coach

A veteran educator steps into the dugout, succeeding Chad Brown whose tenure reshaped the program

Pepperell High School announced this week that Cody Sauls has been appointed head baseball coach for the upcoming 2026‑2027 academic year, marking a new chapter for the program's athletic ambitions.

A coach with deep roots in Georgia baseball

Sauls graduated from Villa Rica High School before earning his degree at the University of West Georgia. Over the past seven years he has built a reputation as both a dedicated special‑education teacher and a knowledgeable coach, most recently serving as an assistant at South Paulding High School.

In addition to his new head‑coach duties, Sauls will join the school's Special Education Department, bringing his instructional expertise to the classroom while continuing to mentor players on the field.

He also remains active with the USA Prime National Detroit Tigers Scout team, a role that sharpens his eye for talent and connects the local program to broader baseball networks.

Sauls succeeds Coach Chad Brown, whose leadership produced a 154‑69 record, four region championships and a state runner‑up finish in 2025. Brown stepped down in June after a tenure that transformed the program's culture and competitiveness.

Community welcomes the new staff

A public meet‑and‑greet with Sauls and the rest of the coaching staff is scheduled for July 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the PHS Media Center, giving families and players a chance to welcome the new leadership in person.
