A New Chapter for the Rams
Mike Paramore, the head coach of the Perry-Lecompton football program, has built his philosophy around the idea that consistent, incremental improvement is the only path to sustained success. He tells his players that each practice, each drill, and each mental reset matters more than any single game outcome.
The team entered the offseason with a clear vision: to translate that daily progress into tangible results on the field. However, the roster will look markedly different after a wave of graduations stripped away many of the previous year’s key contributors.
Despite the loss of experienced seniors, the program has not lowered its bar. Instead, the coaching staff and players have doubled down on expectations, insisting that the work done in the weight room and on the practice field will eventually yield a competitive edge when the season begins.
Senior wide receiver Kaden Baker encapsulates the new mindset, emphasizing three core priorities: competing at a high level, representing Perry-Lecompton with pride, and showing up for the school community. "We’re not just playing for a win; we’re playing for the school and for each other," Baker said.
The 2026 campaign opens with a much‑anticipated matchup against Rossville, a game that will serve as the first test of the team’s revised identity. The outcome will not only set the tone for the season but also provide a early gauge of how quickly the Rams can convert daily improvement into on‑field execution.
