Pete Bevacqua, Notre Dame's vice president and director of athletics, has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Selection Committee, a four‑year term that begins on July 1.
His selection makes him the second Notre Dame athletics director to serve on the committee and the only current Division I AD who simultaneously sits on both the men's basketball committee and the College Football Playoff Management Committee.
A Dual‑Committee Veteran
Joining Bevacqua are three fellow administrators — Keith Carter, Jeff Jackson and Mark Jackson — who were also announced as new members of the selection panel.
Bevacqua's career spans senior roles at NBC Sports, the PGA of America and the United States Golf Association, as well as stints at Creative Artists Agency and the United States Golf Association. A 1993 Notre Dame graduate, he returned to campus in July 2023 as a special assistant to the president before being named director of athletics in March 2024.
The appointments underscore the NCAA's reliance on seasoned administrators who blend experience across multiple sports governance bodies, a trend that could shape the future of college basketball selection processes.
