Kentucky Wildcats name Pete Nochta as new general manager
The University of Kentucky announced on Wednesday that Pete Nochta will assume the role of general manager for its football program, succeeding Pat Biondo who stepped down after a brief stint in the position.
Nochta brings a decade‑plus track record in college athletics, having most recently served as assistant general manager since January. His career includes ten years at Louisville, where he rose to director of recruiting, as well as stints at Purdue and Western Kentucky as a graduate assistant.
University of Kentucky head coach Will Stein voiced confidence in Nochta’s ability to steer the program’s personnel strategy, citing his deep familiarity with the roster and his proven eye for talent acquisition.
In his new capacity, Nochta will oversee personnel operations, player evaluation, recruiting strategy and overall roster management, tasks that are central to maintaining a competitive edge in the SEC.
