A Quiet Offseason of Progress
Lukas Nemec, a junior quarterback from Petoskey, is entering his second season as the team's starting signal‑caller. After a sophomore year that ended without a playoff berth, Nemec used the offseason to focus on refinement rather than rest.

Last season Nemec completed nearly 60 percent of his passes for 1,061 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions. He also proved dangerous with his legs, rushing for 655 yards and ten scores while never fumbling. Those numbers illustrate a player who can beat defenses in multiple ways.
Coaching has played a key role in his development. Nemec spent time with renowned QB coach Cheyne Lacanaria in Grand Rapids, gaining insights that he says have sharpened his decision‑making and footwork. The collaboration has been a cornerstone of his preparation for the upcoming campaign.
