Peyton Beamer, a senior guard from Community R-6 High School in Missouri, has officially committed to play basketball at Westminster College in Fulton. Her senior season showcased a blend of scoring, rebounding, and playmaking that set her apart as one of the most versatile players in the state.
A Fresh Start in Fulton
The announcement came after a season in which Beamer helped the Lady Trojans reach their district championship game for the first time in four years. Coach Bob Curtis highlighted her quick release, defensive instincts, and relentless work ethic as key factors in her decision to continue her career at Westminster.
Defensive Tenacity and Shooting Touch
Beamer finished the year averaging 15.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.1 steals per game, numbers that earned her Class 1 state player honors. She also hit seven three‑pointers in a single contest and was recognized as an all‑conference, all‑district, and all‑state selection. Curtis repeatedly praised her ability to guard multiple positions and to create scoring opportunities from long range.
Beyond the statistics, teammates describe her as a shifty dribbler and a great passer who elevates those around her. Curtis believes those attributes, combined with her defensive skill set, will translate well to the college game and help Westminster contend for conference success.
