PFRPA Announces 2026 Champions Banquet to Celebrate NFL Legends

Former Falcons stars Brian Jordan, Ovie Mughelli, Matt Ryan and Pedro Salgado among award recipients

A Celebration of Legacy and Service

The Pro Football Retired Players Association (PFRPA) has revealed the details of its 2026 Champions Banquet, scheduled for September 17 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The event will bring together more than 10,000 retired players and their families to recognize individuals who have made a lasting impact on the former‑player community.

This year's honorees include Brian Jordan, a dual‑sport athlete who founded The Brian Jordan Foundation; Ovie Mughelli, a longtime Falcons fullback turned environmental advocate; Matt Ryan, the franchise’s all‑time leading passer who now serves as the team’s President of Football and runs ATL: Advance The Lives; and Pedro Salgado, the Falcons’ director of Youth Football and Legends Community.

PFRPA’s mission extends beyond the banquet. The organization works to solidify the legacy of retired players by creating new revenue streams and developing health, welfare, and educational programs. In addition to hosting award events, PFRPA provides dental and vision insurance benefits to more than 10,200 retired players and over 3,500 spouses.

The banquet follows the success of previous gatherings in Green Bay and Houston, underscoring the growing national footprint of the association. As the 2026 ceremony approaches, PFRPA looks forward to continuing its tradition of honoring those who have shaped the sport and supported their communities long after their playing days ended.
