The Pinnacle High School baseball team is gearing up for its first season under new head coach Ruddy Estrella, a coach who arrived with a clear mission: to build a foundation of strategic thinking, resilience and character rather than immediate victories.
A Philosophy Centered on Growth
Estrella’s approach emphasizes teaching players to read the game, make split‑second decisions and learn from every mistake, a method he believes will serve them on and off the field.
His coaching staff includes assistants Yoni Mediano and Raycee Birch, who share the head coach’s commitment to player development and bring a blend of tactical insight and energetic support.
The Panthers are in a rebuild year, fielding a young roster that the program has been actively recruiting and nurturing throughout the summer, fostering a genuine love for the sport.
Core to Estrella’s vision are six guiding values — physical ability, loyalty, teamwork, hard work, leadership and integrity — that he expects each player to embody as they progress.
While wins will inevitably matter, the coach has made it clear that player development is the primary objective, laying the groundwork for sustained success in the years ahead.
By prioritizing fundamentals and mental challenges, the team aims to instill habits that will translate into stronger performances and a deeper appreciation for the game.
