Season Ticket Sale Opens
Pitt Athletics announced today that season tickets for the 2026‑27 men's basketball campaign are now on sale, with prices beginning at $300. The offering grants fans access to a full slate of home games, including high‑profile non‑conference contests against Villanova and West Virginia, as well as ACC battles versus North Carolina, Syracuse and Virginia.
Key Matchups and Venues
The schedule highlights a marquee showdown against West Virginia, part of the annual Backyard Basketball Classic hosted at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. Season ticket holders will receive priority rights to select seats for that game before the general public on‑sale, ensuring better views for the most anticipated matchup of the year.
Backyard Basketball Classic and Priority Access
The classic pits the Panthers against the Mountaineers in a historic rivalry that dates back over a century. In Pittsburgh, Pitt holds a 58‑36 edge in the all‑time series, a statistic that adds extra luster to the upcoming contest.
Athletic Director’s Vision
Allen Greene, Pitt’s Athletic Director, said the events represent bold decisions to compete at the highest level of college athletics while generating revenue that supports the program’s growth. “These games are proof of our commitment to provide memorable experiences for our fans,” Greene remarked.
Roster Overhaul and Coaching Additions
Following the 2025‑26 season, the Panthers have reshaped their roster, adding 11 transfers and two freshmen. The incoming transfer class, ranked among the top 35 nationally by 247Sports, features seven athletes with major‑conference experience, bolstering depth and competitiveness. Head Coach Jeff Capel also announced staff enhancements, welcoming alums Ricardo Greer and Ronald Ramón to the coaching cadre. Their return is expected to bring additional expertise and continuity as the team integrates its new talent.
