A Season Marked by Scholarship
The Pitt men's basketball program was recognized with the 2025-26 National Association of Basketball Coaches Team Academic Excellence Award, a distinction that underscores the team's collective academic performance. To qualify, a program must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 across its entire roster, a benchmark the Panthers met during the recent academic year.
Alongside the team honor, two Pitt players earned individual placement on the NABC Honors Court. Cameron Corhen and Papa Amadou Kante were selected for their outstanding classroom performance, each holding a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, the threshold required for that recognition.
Craig Robinson, executive director of the NABC, emphasized the growing importance of academic achievement in college basketball, noting that the organization is proud to spotlight student‑athletes who excel both on the hardwood and in the classroom.
