A New Era of Pregame Celebration
The University of Pittsburgh's football program is set to transform the hours before kickoff at Acrisure Stadium in 2026, offering a suite of activities that go far beyond the traditional tailgate.
Central to the change is a revamped Roc'n on Rooney, a pregame gathering that now features live music, themed celebrations and a dedicated space for families. Each home game will showcase a different lineup of entertainment, ensuring that fans encounter something fresh every week.
Music and Momentum
The opening matchup against Syracuse on September 17 will welcome the soulful sounds of The Commonheart, while a week later the contest with Bucknell brings DJs C. Scott and Moemaw to the field. These performances are designed to build excitement and create a festival atmosphere that draws fans into the stadium early.
Beyond the main stage, a colorful kids zone has been installed on the turf adjacent to Art Rooney Avenue. Bright inflatables, games and interactive activities invite younger supporters to experience the game day vibe in a safe, engaging environment.
Themed Days and Community Spirit
Every game day is anchored by a unique theme. The season opener against Miami (Ohio) will be celebrated as Ribfest, while the October 10 clash with North Carolina adopts an Ireland‑inspired motif. The Halloween showdown with Georgia Tech on October 31 will feature trick‑or‑treating, military and first‑responder tributes, and a spooky décor that turns the stadium into a festive playground.
Tailgating on the Great Lawn is now streamlined through REVELxp, which offers turnkey packages that handle setup, food and beverage, allowing fans to focus on the game. Season tickets, mini‑plans and single‑game tickets are currently on sale, giving supporters ample opportunity to secure their spot in the evolving experience.
Tradition remains at the heart of the new lineup, with Panther Prowl — featuring the Pitt Marching Band and Spirit Teams — returning to usher the team onto the field, reinforcing school pride as fans gather early.
