The Pleasantville baseball squad rolled past Interstate 35 with an 11‑1 victory in just six innings, improving their record to 27‑1 and cementing their place as the team to beat in the conference.
Easton Cox was the workhorse on the mound, throwing all six frames while surrendering only one run on three hits and striking out 14 batters, a performance that left the opposition swinging at shadows.
At the plate, JJ Phillips delivered a clutch home run and finished 2‑for‑4 with four RBI, while Logan Roff, Brody Adreon and Noah Rist added their own hits, fueling a relentless offensive onslaught.
Coach Alee Phillips praised the team’s ability to apply pressure and execute solid defense, noting that the Trojans’ depth was on full display.
Softball setback in the seventh
The Pleasantville softball team led 2‑1 entering the final inning but surrendered three runs, falling 4‑2 to their opponents. Kally Wysong contributed two hits, and Lainey Kennedy took the circle for the Trojans.
Despite the loss, Coach Alee Phillips highlighted the team’s defensive effort and expressed confidence that the Trojans will rebound when they meet Madrid again tonight in a doubleheader.
