The 2027 NASCAR schedule will feature a rare three-day weekend at Pocono Raceway, beginning with the Craftsman Truck Series on June 11, followed by the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series on June 12 and culminating with the premier Cup Series event on June 13.
This marks the first time since 2023 that the Truck Series has returned to the 2.5-mile oval after being displaced by the ARCA Menards Series, a shift that was driven by conflicts with NASCAR’s World Cup production calendar.
Track president Ben May has emphasized that the weekend is more than a calendar slot; it is a cornerstone of the venue’s business model, leveraging decades of fan loyalty and a newly built fan zone that cost $30 million.
May, who has led Pocono since 2017, notes that the track has sold out its Cup Series date for four straight years, with peak crowds approaching 115,000 spectators, underscoring the deep-rooted connection between the venue and its regional audience.
The president also points to community-focused amenities — such as a dog park, a playground and a fan zone designed from direct feedback — as key differentiators that keep families and repeat visitors coming back.
Single-day tickets for the Cup Series start at $65, a price point that reflects the track’s strategy of balancing accessibility with the high-octane experience that has defined its reputation for over half a century.
While other Northeast venues like Dover Speedway and New Hampshire Speedway have trimmed their NASCAR dates in recent years, Pocono’s commitment to a multi-series weekend illustrates a different approach, one that blends tradition with innovative fan engagement.
The upcoming weekend not only revives a historic series but also reinforces Pocono’s identity as a gathering place where racing enthusiasts can enjoy the sport alongside local traditions, from the surrounding Pocono Mountains to the track’s long-standing community programs.
