The Port Angeles High School boys basketball coaching staff is set to run a four‑day summer skills clinic that aims to sharpen the fundamentals of the game for youngsters entering grades four through seven.
The camp, which runs from July 23 to July 26, splits its sessions by grade level: fourth and fifth graders will meet from 10 a.m. to noon, while sixth and seventh graders will take the court from 12:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Camp Focus and Activities
Instruction will cover ball handling, shooting, defensive positioning and team play, with drills designed to build confidence and competence on the court.
Coaches stress that participants of any skill level are welcome, ensuring that beginners feel supported while more experienced players can refine their techniques.
Attendees are asked to bring athletic shoes, a water bottle and, if they wish, their own basketball, though equipment will be provided on site.
The registration fee is $50, a cost that covers instruction, court time and a camp souvenir. To secure a spot, parents or guardians should email coach Kevin Ruble at Kruble@portangelesschools.org.
Beyond the basketball drills, the clinic offers a chance for kids to meet peers, learn sportsmanship and enjoy a structured, fun environment over the four days.
