The Port Washington High School girls' soccer team concluded a strong season by placing third in the competitive Glacier Trails Conference, finishing with a 6-3-1 conference record and a 9-5-3 overall tally. Their campaign culminated with a narrow 1-0 victory over Kewaskum in the playoff opener before a 2-1 loss to Shorewood in the Division 3 regional final.
Conference Honors
Seven Pirates earned all-conference recognition, the third-most selections in the league, reflecting the team's depth and consistency. Sophomore goalkeeper Kamryn Knaub headlined the group with an all-state honorable mention after posting a 106-save season and contributing two goals and two assists.
Seniors Libby Holmes and Madi Uselding secured first-team honors, Holmes at midfield after scoring three goals and dishing out four assists, and Uselding as a defender who logged 1,307 minutes and added two goals. Freshman attacker Charlotte O’Brien paced the offense with six goals, while midfielders Mia Blum and Payton Wysocki each found the net twice, and Kaylee Elgin contributed a goal and an assist.
Coach praised the squad's camaraderie and resilience, noting that the blend of seasoned seniors and emerging underclassmen set a solid foundation for future success. The team's defensive reliability, highlighted by Uselding's minutes played and Knaub's 85.5% save percentage, proved pivotal in tight contests.
