Portland State University has announced the leaders who will guide its football program in the 2026 season.

The selections were determined through a vote that included both the student‑athletes and the coaching staff, reflecting a collaborative approach to leadership.

Captains Named

Jaxton Helmstetler, a senior linebacker, joins the captaincy group, bringing veteran presence on defense. Brogan De'Asis, also a senior, will serve as a defensive end, while Terence Loville, another senior, will line up as a wide receiver, adding speed to the offense.

Junior tight end Tanner Beaman and sophomore long snapper Brock Fleming complete the leadership cohort, each contributing unique expertise to the role.

Practice Begins Wednesday

The Vikings are scheduled to open preseason workouts on Wednesday, with the first session set for 9 a.m. at Stott Community Field.
