The fourth annual Potsdam Varsity Hockey Golf Tournament is set for September 5 at the Potsdam Town & Country Club, bringing together coaches, players and local supporters for a day of competition and charity.
A Tradition Takes Shape
Organized by a dedicated group that includes Jack Charlebois, Dakota Ford, Joe Charlebois, Joe Stark and Lindsay LaSala, the event has become a staple of the North Country sports calendar.
All proceeds are funneled back into the boys' and girls' hockey programs, covering travel, meals, accommodations and team‑building activities that would otherwise be out of reach for many student‑athletes.
Recent editions have funded new jerseys for both programs and even helped the girls' squad defray expenses during its run to the New York State Championship last season.
The tournament features a four‑person scramble that starts at 9:30 a.m., with a series of quirky challenges such as playing in hockey gloves and putting with a hockey stick, alongside raffles, prizes and a lunch included for participants.
Attendees can also browse a selection of Potsdam Hockey apparel, while registration is handled online through a dedicated link.
Sponsorship tiers — Premier Sponsor at $1,000, Blue/Orange Sponsor at $500 and Hole Sponsor at $100 — offer businesses a high‑visibility way to align with a cause that benefits dozens of young athletes.
