A New Era of Scheduling
The Panthers of Prairie View A&M have secured a blockbuster slate of future football contests that will stretch across the next four years.
Starting in 2027, the university will host East Texas A&M at its home stadium, before traveling to Commerce, Texas, for the return engagement in 2028.
The two programs have met five times historically, with Prairie View holding a 4-1 edge, a fact that adds a layer of intrigue to the upcoming home-and-home arrangement.
A second series, this one with Houston Christian, will commence in 2029 at Prairie View’s campus and conclude in 2030 on the road in Houston, where the home team has won both of their prior meetings.
Beyond the multi-year agreements, Prairie View will kick off the 2026 season with a showdown against Tarleton State, a game that will be carried live on ESPN2, bringing national visibility to the program.
University officials emphasized that the schedule is designed to bolster regional rivalries, provide competitive challenges, and increase exposure for the university’s football brand.
