At a recent 7v7 camp hosted by Auburn University, the Prattville Lions delivered a standout performance that turned heads across the Southeast.
Coach Bobby Carr had positioned the camp as a litmus test against some of Georgia’s strongest high school programs, seeking to gauge his squad’s readiness for the coming season.
A Test Against Georgia’s Elite
The Lions posted an eight‑win, one‑loss record in a single day, showcasing a blend of physicality and mental resilience that left observers impressed.
In the semifinals, they edged LaGrange High School of Georgia, a team coached by the brother of former Florida head coach Billy Napier, further cementing their momentum.
Road Ahead
The championship match pitted Prattville against defending state champion Thomas County Central, a program that had recently completed a perfect 15‑0 season and captured the 2023 Class 6A title.
While the final result favored the Georgian powerhouse, the experience proved invaluable as the Lions gear up for a demanding schedule that includes road games at Niceville (FL) on August 21 and Stanhope Elmore later that month.
Following the camp, the team will travel to the University of Alabama for another 7v7 tournament and then head to the University of Alabama at Birmingham for a week‑long training session before the season officially opens.
With the first two contests slated on the road, the Lions are using these early competitions to fine‑tune strategies and build chemistry ahead of a promising 2026 campaign.
