Presbyterian College announced today that head men’s basketball coach Quinton Ferrell has signed a five‑year extension that will keep him at the helm through the 2030‑31 season, a move that locks in the leadership that has reshaped the program over the past decade.
Ferrell, a 2003‑07 alumnus of the Blue Hose who once dazzled as a standout player, returned to campus after a stint as an assistant and has now begun his eighth year as head coach, marking his 13th overall season within the university’s basketball staff.
Under his guidance the team has climbed to new heights, highlighted by two College Basketball Invitational appearances in 2024 and 2025 and, most notably, a historic run to the Big South Tournament semifinals last year — the first such achievement in school history.
His impact extends beyond wins, as he has recruited and mentored athletes who have collected Big South Defensive Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and two Scholar‑Athlete honors, while also earning eight All‑Big South selections and five All‑Freshman nods over the past two seasons.
The program’s rise has not gone unnoticed; peers recently voted Ferrell runner‑up for Big South Coach of the Year, underscoring the respect he commands across the conference.
