The Southland Conference has named three members of the New Orleans Privateers women’s basketball squad to its All‑Academic team, acknowledging outstanding scholarship and competition.
Academic Excellence on the Court
Lauren Banks, a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, posted a perfect 4.0 GPA while contributing 9.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game this season.
Aaliyah Ellis, pursuing a Master’s in Psychology, started 16 games and shot an impressive 92.3 percent from the free‑throw line, underscoring her reliability under pressure.
Jayla Owen, a Quebec native majoring in Psychology, maintained a 4.0 GPA in the spring semester and appeared in 28 games for the Privateers during the 2025‑26 campaign.
Their collective achievement marks the first time since 2019 that the Privateers have had multiple players honored, and it represents the program’s most extensive representation on an All‑Academic list since joining the Southland.
