Project B taps Landry Fields to lead men's basketball
Project B, a newly announced global basketball league that will feature both men's and women's competitions, has appointed former Atlanta Hawks general manager Landry Fields as its head of men's basketball.
Fields, who enjoyed five seasons in the NBA with the New York Knicks and Toronto before transitioning to front‑office leadership, will now oversee player recruitment, team operations and the development of emerging talent on the men's side. Fields expressed excitement about working with top athletes and shaping the future of the sport, saying the opportunity aligns with his vision for the game's growth.
A transatlantic vision takes shape
The league has already secured a dozen of the sport's top women's players, including Azzi Fudd, Nneka Ogwumike, Alyssa Thomas, Jonquel Jones, Jewell Loyd and Awa Fam, underscoring its commitment to elevating the women's game.
Project B will operate with six teams of eleven players each, traveling across Europe and Asia in a barnstorming schedule that runs from January through April, with Valencia, Spain, and Tokyo, Japan, confirmed as host cities.
The ambitious calendar aims to give fans on two continents a live experience of high‑level basketball, while the league seeks to fuse competitive excellence with a global cultural exchange.
