Purdue Extends 2028 Frontcourt with Four-Star Forward Damian Mojica

The Boilermakers add depth and rebounding prowess as they chase another championship run

Purdue University has extended its 2028 recruiting class with a commitment from four-star forward Damian Mojica, a prospect who brings a blend of post presence and rebounding tenacity.

A Strategic Frontcourt Addition

Ranked No. 94 overall by 247Sports, Mojica averaged 15.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game during the summer with the PSA Cardinals on the Nike EYBL circuit, shooting 37 percent from three-point range and finishing through contact.

While his outside shooting remains a work in progress, the youngster has identified jump-shot development as the next step to broaden his offensive arsenal and increase his versatility on the court.

The Boilermakers already boast a deep frontcourt for the 2028‑29 season, featuring committed big men such as Isaiah Hill and Jamyn Sondrup, as well as returning players Daniel Jacobsen, Raleigh Burgess, Rivers Knight and Jack Benter.

Coach Matt Painter, known for his emphasis on physicality and glass‑cleaning, sees Mojica as a natural fit for his system, which prioritizes rebounding and interior toughness.

Mojica, a graduate of The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, New York, has been climbing the recruiting rankings and will now look to translate his summer performance into collegiate success.
