The Purdue Fort Wayne men's basketball program recently turned the campus of Memorial Park Middle School into a bustling hub of skill development and camaraderie, welcoming students from fourth through eighth grade for a week‑long youth camp.
Head coach Jon Coffman, who has made the camp a staple of his annual schedule, took the opportunity to thank Summit Brands for their support, noting that the partnership underscores the team’s commitment to giving back to the community that cheers them on.
Building Chemistry for the Future
Senior guard DeAndre Craig, Jr., echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the importance of paying it forward and serving as role models for the next generation of players.
Junior guard Tamaje Izuagbe added that the squad’s chemistry has been a bright spot during practice, highlighting the enjoyment they feel when working together on the court.
The team finished the previous season with a 17‑15 overall record and a sixth‑place finish in Horizon League competition, a foundation that Coffman believes positions them well for the upcoming 2026‑27 campaign.
Excitement is already building for a preseason exhibition slated for October 22 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, where the Mastodons will host the storied Purdue Boilermakers.
