A Double Boost for Purdue's 2027 Class
Purdue University announced this week that it has secured a commitment from Isaiah Hill, a 7‑foot center who is widely regarded as the premier basketball prospect from Indiana in the Class of 2027.
Hill’s reputation as a high‑major prospect was cemented when he was listed as a four‑star recruit and the No. 4 center nationally, though his overall ranking slipped from No. 16 to No. 18 in the latest 2027 composite.
Coach Matt Painter, who has guided the Boilermakers to multiple Big Ten titles, praised Hill’s blend of size, mobility and work ethic, noting that the recruit fits perfectly into Purdue’s traditionally physical style of play.
The commitment comes at a time when Purdue’s recruiting class is experiencing a surge of interest, with point guard Kevin Savage also making headlines.
Savage, a 5‑foot‑11 guard from Georgia, has risen to No. 36 in the national rankings and is now viewed as the sixth‑best player from his state, having averaged 24 points per game at a recent Adidas 3SSB event.
Analysts say the dual acquisitions illustrate Purdue’s ability to attract top talent despite fluctuating recruiting metrics, positioning the program for a strong future both on the court and in the NBA draft.
