Lehi High School has named Qi'Sean Rust as its new head coach for the girls basketball program, tapping a familiar face who has spent the last six seasons assisting under former coach Sean Seastrand.
A Coach With Deep Roots
Rust, a Lehi alumnus, starred on the 2017 state‑championship football team as a cornerback and earned 5A All‑State Second Team honors before continuing his athletic career at Dakota State University, where he also played basketball.
His coaching résumé includes stints with the Utah Storm club, work as a basketball trainer, and individual player development across age groups, giving him a broad perspective on player growth.
Vision for the Program
Rust says he wants the program built on three pillars — relationships, accountability and hard work — aiming to create an environment where each player feels valued while pushing toward excellence.
Support and Expectations
Athletic Director Quincy Lewis praised Rust’s work ethic and dedication to player improvement, noting that his appointment aligns with the school’s emphasis on strong relationships and accountability.
Off the court, Rust is a husband and father of two, with his family describing a life centered around faith and community, which he says informs his coaching approach.
Looking Ahead
With the support of the administration and a committed roster, Rust is poised to guide the Lady Pioneers toward a new era of competitiveness and character.
