A Wildcat’s Return
Quade Green, a former University of Kentucky guard, is set to rejoin the basketball circuit as a key addition to La Familia for the upcoming edition of The Basketball Tournament.
Green’s college tenure at Kentucky, spanning the 2017‑2019 seasons, was marked by a 9.3‑point average and a clutch overtime winner against Vanderbilt that still resonates among Wildcats fans. His play also helped pave the way for Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander’s ascent to NBA stardom, a connection that has been highlighted by teammates and coaches alike.
After completing his sophomore year, Green transferred to the University of Washington, where he posted 11.6 points and 5.3 assists per game as a redshirt sophomore. His professional journey has taken him across continents, with stints in the G League and leagues in Venezuela, Scotland, Kosovo, Mexico and China, giving him a global perspective that he now brings to the tournament.
The Basketball Tournament will be contested in two Kentucky cities — Lexington and Louisville — over the coming weeks. All games will be televised on FOX and FS1, bringing the action to a national audience and offering fans a chance to see former Wildcats in a new competitive environment.
La Familia’s roster will feature a blend of alumni, including Willie Cauley‑Stein, Andrew Harrison, Reid Travis, Kahlil Whitney, Kerr Kriisa, Ashton Hagans, Tyler Herro, Immanuel Quickley and Keldon Johnson, among others. The mix of experience and youthful energy promises a dynamic style of play that could make a deep run in the tournament.
