The Quaker Valley hockey program marked a milestone on Tuesday as it unveiled its 2025‑26 Class A state championship ring, capping a three‑title effort that began with a 6‑2 victory over Hershey in the final.
The road to the title
The championship run was built on a 14‑game playoff streak that started with a decisive win over defending champion Avonworth in the Penguins Cup and continued through narrow victories over Greensburg Salem, Chartiers Valley, Mars and finally Hershey, a stretch in which the team allowed just seven goals in five postseason games.
Five players earned PIHL Class A all‑star honors—Luke Koehler, Max Modrovich, Jace Vasbinder, Matthias Lezama and Ian Lorang—while the season’s top five scorers were Lezama with 69 points, Modrovich with 46, Vasbinder with 44, Ben McHenry with 40 and Koehler with 33.
In net, Lorang posted a 1.56 goals‑against average, recorded six shutouts and posted a .924 save percentage, earning him the tournament’s Most Valuable Player award.
The championship also marked a historic return to Philadelphia for the first time in 14 years, a moment that drew electric crowds and underscored the deep community support that has buoyed the program.
Coach Kevin Quinn praised the defensive unit—anchored by Lorang, Koehler and Jack Watson—and highlighted the contributions of unsung players such as Kieran Cain and Charlie Johnson, whose behind‑the‑scenes work helped sustain the team’s momentum.
