Quarterback Club Reverse Raffle Returns to Support Marshall Football
Marshall University’s football faithful are once again invited to the annual Quarterback Club Reverse Raffle, scheduled for August 15 at the university’s Huntington campus. The evening promises a sit‑down dinner, a slate of raffle prizes and the chance to hear firsthand anecdotes from former NFL players who once wore the Thundering Herd’s colors.
Organizers say the event is more than a fundraiser; it is a celebration of the program’s legacy and a direct conduit for channeling resources into the team’s operations. With tickets described as limited and highly sought after, officials anticipate a near‑sell‑out crowd, ensuring that every dollar raised funnels back into the university’s gridiron ambitions.
The program’s centerpiece is a lineup of Marshall alumni who have made the leap to the professional ranks. Former offensive lineman John Wade, long snapper Chris Massey, wide receiver Nate Poole and lineman‑turned‑motivational speaker Jason Starkey are slated to take the stage, sharing stories of their collegiate experiences and the impact the university had on their careers.
A Night of Stories and Giving
Beyond the raffle, attendees will have opportunities to engage in additional games and fundraising activities designed to amplify the financial impact. The proceeds, earmarked exclusively for the Marshall Football program, are expected to bolster scholarships, equipment purchases and recruiting efforts, reinforcing the team’s competitiveness in the coming seasons.
Mark George, a longtime supporter of the Quarterback Club, emphasized the event’s role in sustaining the program’s momentum. “This raffle is a community‑driven effort that directly fuels the team’s success on the field,” George said. “Every ticket sold is a vote of confidence in our student‑athletes and the future of Marshall football.”
