During his rookie campaign, Gibson carved out a niche as a return specialist, ranking second in the Big 12 with 597 kickoff return yards and an average of 23.9 yards per return. He also contributed 71 receiving yards on 15 catches and added two rushing touchdowns, underscoring his versatility. Mastering the Go‑Go Scheme
The Buffaloes’ new Go‑Go offense, built around an aggressive, up‑tempo passing attack, presented a steep learning curve. Gibson spent the offseason digesting roughly 800 play variations, a process that required him to refine route concepts and adjust to faster defensive reactions. He has emerged more comfortable within the system, noting that the scheme’s emphasis on quick throws and spacing aligns with his strengths as a route‑runner and returner.
