The Los Angeles Rams announced the Rams Community Club Team Initiative, a new effort to bring girls flag football to underserved neighborhoods across Southern California. The program supplies uniforms, equipment and coaching while fostering leadership and confidence among participants.
A Program Rooted in Community
Spanning seven clubs in locations that include Long Beach, Watts, East Los Angeles, Inglewood, South Orange County, Seal Beach and the South Bay, the initiative reaches nearly 30 teams and more than 350 athletes aged six to 18. Each club receives full support from the Rams, USA Football and Bridgestone, ensuring that financial barriers do not limit participation.
Beyond the gridiron, participants engage in community‑service projects such as WalkUnitedLA at SoFi Stadium, where they raise funds for local causes and develop a sense of civic responsibility. The inaugural season concluded with a championship tournament that featured custom club kits supplied by the Rams, highlighting the program’s commitment to both competition and camaraderie.
Pathways to the Future
The Rams view the initiative as a long‑term investment in talent development and gender equity. By removing obstacles to entry and offering coaching education, league resources and unique experiences, the program creates a clear pipeline from youth flag football to high school competition, USA National Team selection and, ultimately, Olympic development ahead of the 2028 Games.
Looking ahead, the organization plans to expand the initiative into additional Southern California communities, broadening access and deepening its impact on young athletes.
