The Random Lake Rams baseball team opened the season with a 15‑game winning streak, the longest in Coach Mike Donahue’s 25‑year career and the program’s most impressive start in recent memory.
Currently ranked No. 9 in Division 3 by the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association, the Rams have turned that early momentum into a statement of consistency and chemistry.
A Milestone in Coach Donahue’s Tenure
Senior Logan Michaels described the campaign as one of the best years of baseball he has experienced in high school, while fellow senior Chase Verbanac called it his favorite team among four years at Random Lake.
The streak concluded with a 2‑3 record, but the team has remained resilient, dropping only a single loss to a conference opponent or a comparable-sized school.
Senior Zach Schneider noted that the Rams do not expect rapid improvement; instead they focus on daily effort and a collective mentality that has defined their run.
Looking Toward Grand Chute
The ultimate goal is a return to the WIAA state tournament in Grand Chute, a stage the Rams reached in 2023 when the current seniors were freshmen, and the memory of that experience fuels their drive this year.
Coach Donahue and his players believe the combination of hard work, teamwork, and prior tournament exposure positions them well for another deep postseason run.
