Dutchess Community College announced the hiring of Randy Delanoy as its new head coach for the Falcons baseball program, tapping a veteran with a proven record of regional success.
Delanoy arrives after guiding teams to back‑to‑back NJCAA Region XV and Mid‑Hudson Conference titles, and after stints at SUNY Ulster and SUNY Sullivan, where he refined a player‑first philosophy that blends competitive edge with academic support.
The college will soon unveil a state‑of‑the‑art turf field that will serve as the home for Delanoy’s inaugural squad, a facility he says will enhance recruiting and give student‑athletes a modern training environment.
DCC Director of Athletics Matthew Paquet praised Delanoy’s mentorship style, noting that his emphasis on holistic development aligns perfectly with the college’s mission to foster both athletic and personal growth.
Before his coaching career, Delanoy earned All‑Region XV honors at SUNY Ulster, captured an associate degree in Individual Studies, and later excelled as team captain at St. Bonaventure University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s in Sport Studies and a business minor.
Delanoy’s network of former players spans institutions such as NC A&T, Siena College, Keystone College, Young Harris, Coker College and St. Thomas Aquinas College, underscoring his wide‑reaching influence in the sport.
A New Chapter for DCC Baseball
The appointment signals DCC’s intent to elevate its program and attract talented student‑athletes from across the region, leveraging Delanoy’s championship pedigree and extensive contacts.
