Rania Hattar, a multimedia producer raised in Dubai, has built a career that stretches across film, television, commercials, fashion and live events on five continents.
Her early years were shaped by Dubai’s multicultural milieu, where fluency in English, French and Arabic opened doors to projects in the Middle East, Europe, Asia and the United States.
After relocating to Los Angeles, she started at the bottom of the production ladder, taking on roles from executive producer to production assistant, learning the American studio model that favors specialized hires over full‑cycle producers.
Founding The Mad Hattar
In Los Angeles she established The Mad Hattar, a studio devoted to spatial storytelling that blends narrative with physical environment.
The studio’s most recent activation, “The One Global Final” for Jordan One, invited basketball players to appear in sky‑borne portraits, shutting down parts of New York City for two brief windows within a two‑week period — a first‑of‑its‑kind stunt in the United States.
Hattar describes her creative process as problem‑solving through kindness and integrity, a stance that once put her at odds with a project lead who dismissed her team’s contributions.
Beyond the screen, she says that if she were not in the creative industry she would devote herself to feeding people, viewing cooking as another form of sensory storytelling.
Inspiration and Legacy
A lifelong fan of the Harry Potter series, Hattar cites the books’ comforting constancy as a source of emotional stability, especially for neurodivergent readers seeking familiar narratives.
Her work continues to push the boundaries of experiential media, leveraging Dubai’s strategic location and her multilingual background to craft projects that resonate across cultures.
