Raru Archer has been appointed head basketball coach at Lackawanna College, bringing with him a proven track record of championship success and extensive experience across multiple NCAA Division I programs.
Before joining Lackawanna, Archer guided the team to a 2012 Region XIX championship and later contributed to the growth of programs at Sam Houston State, Long Beach State and Norfolk State, where he developed guards that earned All‑MEAC honors and helped secure a 2022 All‑WAC Defensive team selection.
Starting in the 2026‑27 season, he will steer the program into NCAA Division II competition within the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, with the dual ambition of elevating on‑court performance and fostering academic achievement.
