Rashad Caldwell Earns Princeton Spot on 2026 AllState AFCA Good Works Team

The Tigers’ standout athlete is recognized for his off‑field service in Trenton and beyond

Rashad Caldwell, a standout linebacker for Princeton University’s football team, has been selected as the school’s nominee for the 2026 AllState AFCA Good Works Team, an honor that celebrates college athletes who excel in community service, academic achievement and on‑field performance.

Service as a Civic Fellow in Trenton

During a six‑week stint as the David K. Rose ‘88 Civic Service Coordinator, Caldwell devoted himself to full‑time community engagement in Trenton, New Jersey, where he partnered with local nonprofits to address youth development, wellness and civic participation.

His collaboration with Beauty To The Block, a Trenton‑based organization that mentors youth, women and families, allowed him to help design wellness programming and mentorship initiatives, while his work with Team Chizel brought fitness expertise to the same neighborhoods.

Caldwell also served as a student‑athlete representative for Tiger Brigade, introducing middle‑school groups to collegiate athletics, and he contributed to the Perfect City program, guiding middle schoolers through projects on urban development and social responsibility.

The 2026 AllState AFCA Good Works Team will be announced in September and will consist of 22 student‑athletes from across the country, plus one honorary head coach; one of those athletes will be named team captain and receive the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy.

A national selection panel reviews nominations based on community impact, leadership, academic performance and overall influence, ensuring that honorees reflect the highest standards of service and scholarship.

Caldwell’s nomination underscores how athletic excellence can be amplified by meaningful community contributions, setting a benchmark for peers and inspiring future generations of student‑athletes.
