Raymy Brown, a graduate of New Mexico State University, has been chosen among a select group of umpires to officiate the 2025 Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Brown's journey to the tournament began when his two children joined local Little League teams, prompting him to volunteer as an umpire and eventually rise through the ranks.
Reflecting on the experience, Brown described the opportunity as extraordinary, emphasizing the chance to give back to the community that supported his family.
Having competed as a track and field athlete for NMSU from 1977 to 1979, Brown brings a disciplined work ethic to the diamond, a trait he says translates directly to the precision required behind the plate.
From August 6 to 11, he will serve as a crew chief for the Little League Southwest Region Tournament in Waco, Texas, a stepping stone that leads the winning team to the World Series.
A milestone in youth baseball
Little League Baseball, the world's largest organized youth sports program, engages roughly two million players and over a million volunteers worldwide. The tournament in Williamsport draws international attention, showcasing the next generation of talent and the volunteers who make the event possible.
