The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame revealed this week the members of the 2026 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, a cohort that celebrates collegiate football players who maintain a minimum 3.2 grade point average.
A milestone for academic excellence
The organization announced that a record 2,633 athletes from 369 institutions across the country earned the distinction, underscoring a growing emphasis on academic performance within the sport.
Among the honorees are three standouts from Franklin & Marshall College, whose academic and athletic achievements were highlighted in the announcement.
NFF President and CEO Steve Hatchell said the society reflects the organization’s long‑standing belief that education is integral to the student‑athlete experience, noting that the program has honored participants for two decades.
The Hampshire Honor Society was launched two decades ago as a tribute to the synergy between athletic competition and scholarly accomplishment, and it continues to set a benchmark for collegiate sports programs.
The charitable arm of The Hampshire Companies, known as the Hampshire Foundation, supports the initiative, while the parent real estate firm is headquartered in Morristown, New Jersey.
