A New Chapter for Detroit
The 2026‑27 NHL season will begin earlier than in previous years, with the league compressing its exhibition slate and adding extra regular‑season games. As a result, the Detroit Red Wings open their campaign on Oct. 2 at home against the New York Rangers at Little Caesars Arena.
