Reedsburg's Little League Dreams Reach the World Stage
The Reedsburg 14U Babe Ruth baseball team has earned a spot in the Babe Ruth World Series after capturing the regional championship in Kentucky, a triumph that has put a tiny Wisconsin community of roughly 10,000 residents on the national map.
Their journey includes a prior victory at the Wisconsin State Championship, and the squad will now travel to Eagle Pass, Texas, where they will compete against teams from across the globe between August 6 and August 16.
A Small Town's Big Ambition
Head Coach Travis Bohen, who has led the group for several seasons, credits the team’s extraordinary cohesion, noting that the players function as a family both on the diamond and off it.
Catcher Drew Weber, one of the standout players, said he is thrilled to represent his hometown on such a prestigious stage, describing the experience as a lifelong dream.
The entire Reedsburg community has mobilized to support the team, with local businesses, schools and families organizing fundraisers and cheering squads that travel to Texas to amplify the players’ efforts.
Coach Bohen hopes the historic run will serve as a beacon for future generations, encouraging youngsters in the area to pursue baseball with the belief that dedication can overcome any size limitation.
