Reese Croutworst, a recent graduate of Brattleboro Union High School, has been named to the United Soccer Coaches High School Scholar All‑America Team, a distinction that recognizes top scholars who also excel on the soccer field.

The honor is especially notable because she was the sole Vermont athlete selected for the boys or girls list, underscoring the rarity of her achievement in a region not often represented at the national level.
Croutworst capped her secondary education with a perfect 4.00 grade point average, a feat that earned her multiple all‑state and all‑New England selections and solidified her reputation as a scholar‑athlete.
Her athletic résumé includes a record 80 career goals, 23 assists and a total of 103 goal contributions, numbers that place her at the top of BUHS history and helped the program secure its first playoff win in years.
In August she will travel to Kansas City, Missouri, to receive two All‑America certificates and attend the United Soccer Coaches All‑America Ceremony, where she will join other top scholars from across the country.
Beyond individual accolades, Croutworst’s leadership helped revitalize her high school team, guiding them to a historic playoff victory that had eluded the program since 2007.
Next fall she will continue both her academic and athletic pursuits at Springfield College, where she hopes to build on the foundation she has established in Vermont.
