A Rising Star in Reed City
Reese Dew, a 6‑foot‑3 senior at Reed City High School, has become a cornerstone of the school’s athletic programs, excelling on the football field, the baseball diamond, and even the bowling lanes.
On the gridiron, Dew spent four years as the starting quarterback, guiding the Coyotes to a district championship and finishing the season with a 22‑12 record in baseball. His leadership helped the team reduce errors and improve overall performance compared to the previous year, even though the championship game ended in a loss to Pine River.
In baseball, Dew’s bat was equally formidable. He finished the season with a .505 average, amassing 48 hits and 47 RBIs, which earned him first‑team All‑CSAA Red Division honors. Playing primarily at first base, he combined reliable glove work with a powerful swing, delivering four hits and four RBIs in a memorable doubleheader against Kent City.
Beyond football and baseball, Dew also contributed to the school’s bowling team for a single season, showcasing his versatility as an athlete. Standing at 6‑foot‑3, his height gave him an advantage in handling high throws defensively and allowed him to excel in multiple positions.
Looking Ahead
Coaches and teammates alike note that Dew’s consistency and work ethic set a benchmark for younger players. As he prepares for the next chapter, whether on a college field or in another venue, his experience and achievements have already cemented his legacy in Reed City sports.
The community looks forward to seeing how Dew’s talents will evolve, confident that his multi‑sport background will continue to influence his performance and leadership in any arena he chooses.
