Nebraska Baseball Secures Commitment from Catcher Reese Moore
The University of Nebraska announced that catcher Reese Moore has committed to the Cornhuskers, a move that bolsters the team's defensive and offensive options as they look to build on a memorable 2026 campaign.
Moore arrives after a two‑year stint at Iowa, where he honed his hitting skills before transferring to South Carolina. At South Carolina he battled injuries but still managed a standout season in which he batted .304 with nine home runs and 45 RBI, earning first‑team All‑Big Ten honors for his offensive production.
The catcher will also reunite with his older brother, Iowa pitcher Cole Moore, who recently transferred to Nebraska, adding a familiar familial connection to the roster. Alongside utility player Caleb Hoover — another South Carolina transfer — Moore forms part of a wave of experienced talent entering the program.
Nebraska's coaching staff highlighted the veteran presence Moore will bring to the catching position, noting that his track record of performance and leadership should complement rising star Jeter Worthley, who is also vying for minutes behind the plate.
The commitment marks the third addition to Nebraska's transfer portal class and the second player from South Carolina to join the Cornhuskers, underscoring the program's strategic focus on depth and experience as they prepare for the upcoming season.
