Reese Morgan, a senior midfielder at Fossil Ridge High School, has been selected as the 2025‑26 Gatorade Colorado Girls Soccer Player of the Year, a distinction that highlights her impact on the field and in the community.
A season of clutch performances
During the campaign she helped the Falcons finish a 18‑1‑1 season that culminated in a Class 5A state championship, a feat that required her to find the net at critical junctures.
She contributed seven goals and nine assists, and her most memorable strike came in overtime of the title game against Mountain Vista High School, securing the championship for her teammates.
Morgan’s clutch performances extended to the previous two state semifinals, where she also delivered the decisive goal, underscoring her reputation for rising to the occasion when it mattered most.
Service and scholarship
Off the pitch, Morgan volunteers with the Thompson Education Foundation’s Help Kids Succeed program and the Poudre School District Special Olympics, channeling her energy into community service.
She maintains a 4.15 weighted GPA, balancing a rigorous academic load with a demanding athletic schedule, and has signed a letter of athletic aid to continue her career at the University of Denver on a scholarship.
Looking ahead
The Gatorade Player of the Year program, which honors one state winner from each of the 50 states and Washington D.C. across 12 sports, has distributed more than $6.4 million in grants to over 2,200 organizations, reflecting the broader impact of honorees like Morgan.
