Free Sled Hockey Clinic Returns to Reno
The City of Reno, in partnership with the local Sled Hockey Club, will open the ice at Reno Ice on August 15, 2026, for a complimentary “Try Hockey for Free” session designed specifically for people with physical disabilities.
Running from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., the clinic offers an introduction to sled hockey, allowing participants to handle a sled, learn basic puck handling and experience the fast‑paced sport under the guidance of seasoned players.
All equipment is provided at no cost, and no prior experience is required, making the event accessible to anyone interested in trying the game for the first time.
Registration is currently open on the City of Reno’s official website, where interested athletes can secure a spot in the limited‑capacity session.
The initiative is part of Reno’s broader adaptive sports program, which already includes a variety of inclusive activities aimed at fostering community participation and athletic development.
