The Rex & Brody Foundation, founded by Mindie O’Sullivan, is dedicated to using baseball as a tool for education and empowerment among youth. The organization believes that the discipline and teamwork inherent in the sport can translate into life skills that extend beyond the diamond.
A community‑driven baseball initiative
Last weekend the foundation hosted a free baseball training clinic at Tom Petty Park in Gainesville, Florida, where approximately 110 local youngsters gathered to work on hitting, fielding and game awareness.
Guiding the sessions was Eastside Baseball Head Coach Adam Souilliard, who paired skill drills with mentorship moments designed to foster confidence and leadership.
Although the clinic was centered in Gainesville, the foundation’s vision reaches farther, with upcoming initiatives planned for Cooperstown, New York, to bring similar opportunities to that community.
Organizers emphasized that donations are vital to sustain the program, allowing them to expand clinic offerings, supply equipment and provide scholarships for aspiring athletes.
